Tenets of Operation
Q-Chem values safety over production as the main asset for Q-Chem is its manpower. In another word, Q-Chem cares for each employee working in any Q-Chem facility.
To ensure the safety of each person, reliability of equipment and the quality of production, Q-Chem put in place some golden rules; they are called the "Tenets of Operation".
• Never operate equipment outside of design or environmental limits.
Intent: Reduce the risk of equipment failure, damage, or release to the environment by staying within the design limits.
•Always move to a safe, controlled condition, and seek assistance when a situation is not understood.
Intent: Don't expose yourself, others, or equipment to risks by working in a situation that you don't understand.
•Always operate with safety devices in service.
Intent: Where safety or environmental protection devices exist, use them. If they are inoperable, establish safeguards and correct the situation as soon as possible.
•Always follow all safe work practices/procedures and act to stop unsafe conditions and actions.
Intent: Each employee is expected to identify and correct unsafe conditions / actions immediately.
•Always produce a product that meets or exceeds your customers' requirements.
Intent: Each employee takes responsibility and is accountable for the quality of the products and services they provide.
•Never contaminate or compromise a dedicated system.
Intent: We will maintain the integrity of our product and utility systems.
•Always report environmental, health and safety compliance information accurately and on time.
Intent: We are expected to achieve 100% compliance.
•Always address abnormal conditions and clarify/understand procedures before proceeding.
Intent: Identify abnormal conditions, evaluate the risk, and begin resolution immediately.
•Always follow written procedures for high risk or unusual situations.
Intent: In order to ensure consistent stable operation, we will review / use or develop clear written procedures for all non-routine, critical, or complex operations.
•Always involve people with expertise and first hand knowledge in decisions, improvements and changes.
Intent: Decisions are made with knowledgeable people and the most current / accurate data and information.
Tenets are intended to protect people, the environment, and equipment based on three common sense principles:
DO IT SAFELY or NOT AT ALL!
THERE'S ALWAYS TIME TO DO IT RIGHT!
IF IT'S WORTH DOING, DO IT BETTER.
