• CNA-Q - College of the North Atlantic Qatar
• Coach - is one who's knowledge and understanding of process as well as the variety of styles, skills and techniques that enables the trainee/developee to learn and develop. Coaches in QChem are representatives from the Training & Development section of HR Department.
• Developee - A Qatari who has been placed on a development program within Q-Chem, as a developee for a senior position he / she may or may not be a post holder.
• Employee - A person who is hired to provide services to a company on a regular basis, the persons referred to as Q-Chem direct hire, QP and CP-Chem secondee.
• Mentor - is an experienced person who acts as a trusted counselor, role model, and guide to a less experienced person or a newcomer into the organization. As an expert in a particular field, a mentor guides someone at a lower level on professional advancement. Mentor can be an experienced operator, technician, supervisor, engineer or superintendent from any departments.

• Post Holder - An employee who holds a current permanent approved position in the organisation as indicated on the organisational chart.
• Students - Those that are studying full time at a recognized institution, where they have signed a study contract with Q-Chem.
• Study Support Allowance - A cash allowances payable in two instalments to cover books, stationery and catering expenses during the academic year for Qatari Nationals.
• Target Position - The position a developee or trainee is being developed towards, in order for them to carry out the duties as required by the job.
• TMP - Tailor Made Program - This is a competency-based program that is conducted through classroom and practical on-site training in areas of specialization such as: process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation. This program is administered by QP and the classroom based training is conducted by CNA-Q.

• TPP - Technician Preparatory Program - This is a four-year competency-based program that is conducted through classroom and practical on-site training in areas of specialization such as: process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation. This program is administered by QP and the classroom based training is conducted by CNA-Q
